Match Reports :
12C v Sth Ettalong Won 5 nil Before I start Chris would like to send a big bunch of thanks to Denise. Having the help and support of Denise is comforting knowing that the team is always in good hands. Without her commitment it would have made my recovery harder as well as leaving the kids in limbo. 3 Cheers for Denise - hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray I would like to congratulate you all for not giving away any penalties in the box. Both goalkeepers were very happy about this too. Austin & Jack B once again had great games keeping the opposition scoreless. Todays goal scorers were Nathan 2, Josh 2 and Austin 1. Tilly, Tilly Tilly....those white poles with nets on them, thats where you kick the ball between to score a goal. Blake did weel keeping his backline of Eve, Pinkie and the awersomeness of Kimmie (in her words!!) in position to reduce the chances of the opposition from scoring. Wade, Jack D and Connor all did well with feeding the ball thru to the front line unlucky not to score too. Its now getting close to the business end of the season which means the importance of training is crutial. So see you all there
May 8th :
Before I start this report I have had a request from your two goalkeepers PLEASE CAN THERE BE NO MORE DOT SHOTS. LAST WEEK AUSTIN SAVED A CRACKER, THEN THIS WEEK JACK B SURVIVED A BULLET. For two players who would both prefer to be out on the field all game they always give their all. Well done to you both. Well the early morning game found us making the drive to sunny beachside Terrigal. Coach Chris had to work but the team was still in great hands with Denise. The game started a bit slow with Terrigal getting an early goal. We went into half time 1 all with some great ball handling down the field which was finished off in great style Jack B. The back line had alot of work to do this week, with some really good defence. Mid field stayed consitant while the forwards had some good opportunities. The second goal was scored by Miss Tilly who stayed alert and ready after a penalty from Austin was put into the back of the net by Tilly. There were a few stand outs this week for player of the game. In a very close 2nd was Jack B, but this week the honour goes to Blake. What a fantastic game you played. Your defence was 110% all the time. Just a reminder for everyone to be at training, to be ready to train and listen at all times
12C v Budgewoi Won 3-1 What another great day for a game of soccer. This was our 2nd game for the season in C grade. Could we come home with a win against our closest neighbours. And wasn't it great to see Josh back on deck after getting clearance from the medical staff. The game was played hard and fast with lots of opportunities for us to score. Our first goal was the result of a free kick which Tilly was able to use her head to score the first goal. Not long after Budgewoi scored to make it 1 all. Then we had some great play down the side line with a cross to the middle which found Jack B ready & waiting with his boot to slam it into the back of the net. Half time found us up 2-1 but Coach Mahoon wanted more. The backs did well to keep the opposition from scoring in the second half with some great saves from Jack B. The mid field had a solid game in both attack & defence. Our goal to seal the win was scored by Miss Tilly again with a toe punt from a difficult angle. Next week find us taking on Ourimbah at home. So lets all get to training this week. And isn't it great that the kids are back at school mums & dads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
12C v Killarney Vale 3 all draw
Today was the start of the season and the 11E's were first up and got a win.
Then it was us.
We have stepped up a grade.
After such a fantastic 2009 the pressure is on again.
Due to school holidays we only had 11 players so thankyou to Tennille from the 11E's for backing up.
Not only frustrating for the Coach & Manager, but was worried about some of the parents too.
Would we need to call a Dr for all the heart attacks on the side line.
Not really the best game but you came away with a draw.
Lets all get to training this week.
And we all send our best wishes to Josh, get well soon, we miss you, we need you and Coach Chris
needs someone else to pick on!!!
