Saturday 7th July
The scoreline does not reflect the whole game.
We Went down 4-0 but held them to 1-0 in the first half and held them scoreless until 26 mins.
Some great efforts all round with Shannon and Jarrod taking out a joint MOM award.
Brady and Jacob Langworthy were given most improved awards for their efforts over the last few weeks.
The game was cut short by a few minutes as the ref couldn’t continue the game. We are not sure if he was having an Asthma attack or swallowed the pea of his whistle. Both coaches agreed to stop the game ( probably saved us another goal…).
Here’s hoping Southo go down to Umina by five to get us back in the top half of the table..
Next game is at home next week against Killarnet 2’s.. should be an easy win..i hope!!
Sat 3rd July
Today we went to Umina with 13 Players and thats how it stayed. Not a Team but 13 players.. we lost 4-1.. Need i say more? Come on guys, we are a team!! Fix It
Sat 19th June
Vs Gosford 1-0 win After a 3 week Lay off from matches and training, there was the obvious lack of fitness throughout the team. The first half was on par with a junior non comp team and we were saved by some amazing keeping by Jake Piper. After a stern chat and some positional and formation changes at half time, a completely different team took to the field for the second half. Some amazing efforts from all of the team in attack and defence we noted but the midfield took charge of the field and we were eventually saved with five minutes to go by the Golden Boot of Cameron Backenbridge to give us a 1-0 win. Man of the Match went to Jacob Delbridge as i have never seen the big man run as hard and fast as he did in the second half all season. commendations also to Jake Piper, Brady Baker, Jarod Goodwin All of the teams thoughts are with Matt Tippet who missed the game with a broken hand and we all wish him a speedy recovery and return to the team. And thanks to Craig Goodwin as allways for his fitness training support.
