Result – 2 – 1 Win
What a great bunch of players these are, there were three players that backed up after their own reserve grade full games .Nick Duncan / Dylan Mathews Turner, Dean Pepper showed great commitment to the club be there to back up.
Again there were many stand out players for our side with Steven Judd scoring the winning goal 12 min from full time & some very good defence led by Pete Clarke & Luke Campbell, Trent Cowan. A few changes before full time to reward reserve grade players was pleasing to see & with this re-shuffle send Ben Cowan to left back position & some gutsy efforts to stop a couple of late shots on goal was a sign that all players are prepared to do any job required when asked for their side / Club. My personal opinion is that this side has more improvement in them over the next month or so & with the likes of Paul Campbell, Steven Judd & Wade Foley leading the team as senior players there is no doubt we WILL & ARE a side to be reckoned with.
I would also like to congratulate Chris Mahoon on efforts this year in not only taking on both positions as reserve grade & 1st grade coach but achieving a great result for our club in getting both reserve grade & 1st grade a winning double for the 1st time in 3 YEARS.
I will be having a few singing lessons with a few of the guys that have forgotten our club song but other than that it was a great CLUB effort.
Congratulations to you guys you thoroughly deserve these wins.
P.S – Also fantastic to see so many supporters on the side lines for both grades. These guys deserve to have this support you are showing so please come to any game you can as it does make a difference!
